Air China Cargo is introducing scheduled freighter operations between Shanghai Pudong International and Glasgow Prestwick, bolstering cargo connectivity between China and the UK. The carrier is redirecting three of its four weekly services from Guangzhou Baiyun to Shanghai while maintaining 11 weekly flights to Prestwick. The move strengthens the Scottish airport's China network to 15 weekly mainland services plus three from Hong Kong. Prestwick said the new route diversifies its network and provides exporters access to Asia's premier freight hub. Scottish producers shipping premium seafood and time-sensitive goods gain expanded Asian market reach. The airport has processed over 25 million e-commerce parcels with Royal Mail and EVRi since May last year and exported more than one million kilograms of Scottish salmon since January 1st, 2026. Air China Cargo recently expanded its Chengdu-Prestwick service to daily frequency and ordered four additional A350 freighters to support network growth.
