Air Hong Kong has leased a converted Airbus A330 freighter from Cargo Aircraft Management to bolster its regional operations, with the aircraft joining its fleet in the fourth quarter of 2026. The carrier currently operates 14 A330 freighters dedicated to DHL Express services after retiring its A300-600F fleet last year. The new capacity will primarily serve routes to mainland China and other regional destinations. The expansion supports Cathay Group's broader fleet modernization, which includes eight next-generation A350 freighters on order for 2027 delivery. Cathay Cargo operates a separate fleet of 20 Boeing 747 freighters alongside belly capacity on passenger aircraft. The move capitalizes on Hong Kong International Airport's newly completed third runway, reinforcing the hub's position as the world's leading air cargo hub.
