Air Hong Kong has leased an Airbus A330 freighter from Ohio-based Air Transport Services Group, expanding its all-cargo fleet to 15 aircraft. The Cathay Pacific Airways subsidiary will deploy the medium-widebody jet to serve mainland China and regional routes, primarily supporting DHL Express operations. The aircraft arrives in the fourth quarter. Cathay Cargo, a top 10 global cargo airline by traffic, operates 20 Boeing 747 freighters and has ordered eight next-generation A350F aircraft from Airbus. The transaction marks only the third A330-300 conversion that ATSG has placed with a customer. The first two deliveries went to Turkey's ULS Cargo Airlines last year. Cathay Group leadership cited the expansion as critical to supporting capacity growth and reinforcing Hong Kong's position as the world's leading air cargo hub. The additional regional flexibility will complement future A350F arrivals.
