Alaska Airlines projects cargo revenue will reach $750 million by 2030, leveraging its 2024 acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines. The company plans to expand international operations and launch dedicated freight service between Hawaiian islands.
The carrier generated $549 million in cargo revenue last year, up 57% following the September 2024 merger. First-half 2026 cargo revenue reached $316 million, positioning the airline for over $600 million annually as peak shipping season approaches.
Alaska currently serves five international destinations—Tokyo, Seoul, London and Rome—with plans to add Paris and Athens next year. The airline aims to operate 15 international routes by 2030, with most hubs concentrated in major industrial economies. The Boeing 787-9 widebody aircraft deployed on long-haul routes offer substantial lower-deck cargo capacity with higher yield potential than domestic services.
Alaska operates five freighter aircraft domestically: three Boeing 737-700 converted freighters and two Boeing 737-800 passenger-to-freighter aircraft.
