Alibaba Unveils Next-Generation Chip as China Accelerates Domestic AI Infrastructure Push

Alibaba has introduced the Zhenwu M890 processor, delivering triple the performance capabilities of its current Zhenwu 810E iteration. The new chip features 144 GB of GPU memory and supports interchip bandwidth of 800 GB per second. The e-commerce conglomerate has already distributed 560,000 Zhenwu units to more than 400 customers spanning 20 industries. Alibaba simultaneously unveiled its third-generation large language model, Qwen3. In early April, the company launched a data center in southern China with China Telecom, powered by Alibaba's proprietary chips.
