Americold Realty Trust inaugurated its inaugural Canadian import-export facility on June 18 at Port Saint John in New Brunswick. The hub combines cold storage operations with port and rail connectivity through a partnership between Americold, DP World, and Canadian Pacific Kansas City, integrating temperature-controlled warehousing directly at DP World's container terminal. The facility provides approximately 22,000 pallet positions—equivalent to over 800 full truckloads of perishable cargo—and eliminates the need for intermediate drayage between vessels and storage. Construction began spring 2025. The terminal serves trade corridors between Central and Eastern Canada and markets in Europe, South America, and Asia-Pacific. As the only temperature-controlled storage in Eastern Canada directly connected to port without additional transport, the hub reduces both shipping costs and transit times for temperature-sensitive goods movement.
