ASL Airlines Australia has taken delivery of a third Boeing 737-800 converted freighter, expanding its cargo operations in the region. The aircraft, registered VH-AZ4, arrived this month after conversion in January 2024. The plane previously operated with Dubai-based SolitAir, which was operated by ASL Airlines Ireland.
The carrier committed last month to adding four more converted freighters to strengthen its 737-800BCF network across Australia and New Zealand. Several aircraft will transfer from ASL's European operations to the Australian certificate of approval. Deliveries are expected to arrive progressively over coming months.
The fleet expansion supports ASL Airlines Australia's growing cargo footprint, including recent operations launched at Western Sydney International Airport. The airline also acquired Airwork's Australia and New Zealand freight business through a sale-and-purchase agreement earlier this year.
