Astral Aviation completed a multi-leg air cargo operation delivering 100 metric tons of humanitarian aid supplies to Bunia in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The relief shipment originated in Europe, transiting through Liège Airport in Belgium before arriving at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport aboard a Boeing 747F operated by interline partner Network. Ground handler Çelebi managed the transfer in Nairobi. Astral's Boeing 737-400 freighter then transported the cargo to Bunia Airport, which lacks capacity for widebody aircraft. The operation involved coordination among Scan Global Logistics, AVICO, and UNICEF. Astral's leadership emphasized the necessity of industry collaboration to address humanitarian challenges across Africa. The airline prioritized safety, security, and regulatory compliance throughout the mission, working with aviation regulators and public health authorities in both Kenya and the DRC to maintain operational standards.
