The American Transportation Research Institute is requesting participation from motor carriers and drivers in a survey examining adoption and perception of onboard safety technologies. The effort is part of TechCelerate, a four-year initiative supported by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration examining awareness and deployment of advanced driver assistance systems across trucking. Researchers will benchmark current responses against baseline data from the program's first phase to identify shifts in adoption patterns and technology preferences. The questionnaire covers four ADAS categories: warning systems, steering assistance systems, camera-based monitoring systems and braking systems. Participants rate their familiarity with specific technologies and identify which systems are likely to see widespread adoption. The initial phase surveyed more than 700 drivers and 200 motor carriers, establishing foundational industry perspectives on onboard safety equipment.
