Cookeville, Tennessee-based less-than-truckload carrier Averitt has launched a 100,000-square-foot distribution and fulfillment facility in Jackson, Mississippi. The new warehouse positions the carrier to capitalize on major freight corridors along Interstate 20 and Interstate 55. The facility complements Averitt's existing 57-door LTL terminal at the location and provides connections to rail networks and ports serving New Orleans and Mobile, Alabama. The warehouse offers flexible warehousing options without long-term contract requirements, accommodating seasonal and overflow inventory needs. Averitt operates over 140 terminals across the United States and provides truckload, dedicated and distribution services. The expansion aligns with the carrier's 2027 growth targets, which include adding 900,000 square feet of warehouse space, 379 dock doors and 2,000 truck parking spaces. In June, Averitt opened a 33-door facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
