Avianca Cargo and DSV jointly operated an Airbus A330F freighter from Miami to Caracas carrying 58 tons of emergency supplies following devastating earthquakes in late June. The 5.0 magnitude tremor killed more than 5,000 people and displaced 650,000 residents requiring immediate assistance. The aircraft transported medical supplies, food, hydration kits, personal hygiene products and critical relief materials to affected communities. Avianca Cargo Chief Commercial Officer Juan Correa emphasized the partnership's focus on efficient delivery of international humanitarian aid in coordination with local authorities. DSV Air Product Americas Vice President Stephanie Penarete highlighted the combined logistics capabilities deployed for the mission. The operation involved collaboration with Direct Relief, Global Empowerment Mission, Heart to Heart International and World Central Kitchen. Since the earthquakes, Avianca has transported 150 tons of total humanitarian aid to the region.
