Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems has selected Aeva to integrate 4D LiDAR sensors into collision mitigation systems for mass-production Class 8 vehicles. The partnership expands Bendix's existing Fusion ADAS platform, which is already deployed across major truck manufacturers. Approximately 300,000 new Class 8 trucks enter the North American market annually. The collaboration targets one of the first LiDAR-based L2+ driver assistance solutions for commercial fleets. The program represents a broader industry shift toward advanced perception capabilities in active safety systems. Bendix's chief technology officer emphasized that Aeva's 4D LiDAR can enhance system performance in critical driving scenarios, enabling collision mitigation solutions that work more effectively across diverse real-world conditions. Aeva's co-founder called the initiative a significant milestone toward commercializing LiDAR-based safety solutions at scale.
