BNSF broke ground on the Camp Howze Industrial Rail Park in Gainesville, Texas, on June 23, marking a significant infrastructure investment for North Texas. The 489-acre master-planned development will serve as one of the region's largest rail-served industrial sites, with capacity to support up to 7 million square feet of future development. Buzzi Unicem Cement has committed as the facility's anchor tenant. The rail park will include a 30-acre-plus transload facility for rail-to-truck and truck-to-rail operations, along with a planned 200,000-square-foot freight-forwarding facility. BNSF designated the site through its Certification Program, which evaluates ten economic development criteria to ensure readiness standards. Service commencement is targeted for second-quarter 2027. BNSF Vice President Scott Bates called the project instrumental for attracting rail-served industries to the area.
