The Transportation Communications Union/IAM has ratified a new five-year collective bargaining agreement with BNSF Union 41 members at the Class I carrier's Fort Worth headquarters. The contract delivers compounded wage increases totaling 17.8%, with retroactive compensation beginning July 1, 2025. The agreement also includes accelerated vacation enhancements and preserves existing health care benefits. BNSF President and CEO Katie Farmer said the ratification underscores the partnership between the carrier and Fort Worth workers, positioning the railroad to advance safety, service and reliability objectives. TCU/IAM National Representative Kevin Lattimer stated the agreement provides strong wages and vacation improvements while preserving employees' health and welfare benefits. More than 96% of BNSF's workforce currently operates under ratified labor agreements, the Class I stated.
