The Boeing 777F has become the most widely operated freighter aircraft globally, surpassing the 747 freighter fleet. More than 330 aircraft are now in active service. The wide-body jet accounts for approximately 40% of global freighter capacity and carries more air cargo annually than any competing aircraft type. During 2025, the 777F fleet logged 6,250 flight hours with an average of 17-plus flight hours daily. The aircraft dominated long-haul operations, accounting for 80% of all freighter flights exceeding 6,000 nautical miles. Trade valued at approximately $4 trillion moved via 777F aircraft last year. An FAA emissions exemption granted in September permits Boeing to continue 777F sales beyond 2027, authorizing 35 additional aircraft for certification. Year-to-date 2026 figures show six new orders and 20 deliveries, with 38 unfilled orders remaining. Combined firm orders for the 777F and 777-8F models exceed 450 aircraft.
