Bot Auto will deploy Lenovo's AD1 autonomous-driving domain controller across its Class 8 driverless truck fleet beginning in the first quarter of 2027. The Houston-based carrier announced this week that the AD1, built on Nvidia Hyperion architecture, will serve as the production computing platform for Bot Auto's autonomy system. The company projects total hardware costs—including compute and sensors—at $50,000 per truck, claiming a three to eightfold cost advantage over competing systems. Bot Auto currently operates approximately 350 monthly loads across Texas and reported 270% revenue growth between May and August as it expanded commercial freight operations. The carrier completed its first fully autonomous commercial load in April, a 231-mile overnight run from Houston to Hutchins without safety personnel. Bot Auto operated 12 tractors during that milestone run.
