Brussels Airport processed 73,964 tonnes of cargo in April, marking continued momentum for the Belgian hub. Full-freighter services led the gains with a 23.5% jump, fueled predominantly by increased traffic to Asia. Express services grew 1.9%, while trucked volumes rose 5%. Asia and North America were the main import regions showing strong growth, with Africa also demonstrating strong growth. These same regions represented the main export markets, with further growth recorded in North America and Africa. Growth tempered slightly as cargo on passenger aircraft fell 8%, primarily due to cancelled Middle East flights. April's performance aligned with year-to-date trends, following a 6.4% improvement during the first quarter when integrator volumes surged more than 9% compared with the prior year.
