BTS World Cup Performance Lifts Hybe Stock Nearly 7%

South Korea's largest K-pop agency Hybe surged 7.16% in trading Thursday after BTS secured a historic spot performing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final halftime show. The performance will feature BTS alongside Madonna and Shakira on July 19. The announcement boosted Hybe's market value by over 700 billion won, or $470 million. BTS, a seven-member group, returned to recording after mandatory military service and released their 10th studio album "Arirang" in March. The record sold 4 million copies on its first day and topped charts in 115 countries on Apple Music, marking their seventh consecutive Billboard 200 number-one debut. The band launched their world tour April 9, spanning 85 dates across 23 countries.
