BulkLoads Bolsters Agricultural Operations With Livestock Network Acquisition

BulkLoads has acquired Livestock Network, an online load board serving the livestock transportation sector since 2000. The Springfield, Missouri-based operator of North America's largest bulk freight marketplace unites two established players in specialized freight hauling while expanding service offerings to livestock carriers. Livestock Network members will gain access to BulkLoads' ecosystem, including freight factoring, insurance products, transportation management software and market intelligence tools. BulkLoads plans technology investments for Livestock Network, including website redesign, enhanced navigation, new digital capabilities and a forthcoming mobile application enabling drivers to manage loads remotely. The company operates a network connecting more than 10,000 carriers, shippers and brokers handling bulk commodities. Livestock Network co-founder Matt Fredin joins BulkLoads as a partner. Financial terms were undisclosed.
