Cargolux, a Luxembourg-based cargo carrier, has postponed its planned resumption of freighter operations to Dubai World Central until further notice. The airline had targeted July for the service restart following a suspension imposed in early March. The delay coincides with escalating hostilities in the region after a U.S.-Iran ceasefire collapsed July 8, triggering reciprocal airstrikes and missile attacks centered on the Strait of Hormuz. Cargolux maintains service to Muscat but continues to suspend flights to Kuwait, Dammam, Bahrain, Riyadh and Doha. Despite the setback, regional capacity shows signs of recovery elsewhere. Middle East-to-Europe cargo volumes climbed 11% this week compared with the previous month, driven by capacity additions from Qatar Airways, Emirates and Cathay Pacific.
