Cathay Cargo has relocated its dedicated cargo flights to Navi Mumbai International Airport, joining other carriers in utilizing the facility's newly operational freighter infrastructure. The Hong Kong airline will deploy three weekly flights using Boeing 747-400ERF and 747-8F aircraft. The transition follows temporary suspension of freighter operations at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport due to facility upgrades, though Cathay Cargo will maintain bellyhold cargo operations there. The carrier operates five weekly freighter flights each from Delhi and Chennai, complementing its broader Indian network of 45 weekly passenger flights across Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Cathay Pacific's regional cargo head noted the move strengthens connectivity between Western India's exporters and global markets via the Hong Kong hub. Silk Way West and Hong Kong Air Cargo have also begun operations at Navi Mumbai International Airport since its August 1 freighter launch.
