CBSA Intercepts 385 Kilos of Cocaine at Blue Water Bridge

Canadian Border Services Agency officers seized approximately 385 kilograms of suspected cocaine from a commercial truck at the Blue Water Bridge port of entry in Ontario. The driver was arrested following the discovery during secondary examination procedures. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police assumed the criminal investigation. The individual was subsequently charged with importing a controlled substance and possession for trafficking, both violations of Canada's Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The seizure represents continued enforcement momentum at the busy cross-border checkpoint. CBSA reported more than 4,500 kilograms of cocaine and crack seizures during fiscal year 2025-26, a figure encompassing coca leaves, coca paste and cocaine products. The agency cited the July announcement of a nearly 1.7-tonne drug bust in Southern Ontario as among the province's largest narcotics cases by weight. Michael Prosia, CBSA's Southern Ontario regional director general, characterized the interdiction as evidence of officer capability in border security operations.
