CMA CGM Group has agreed to purchase FedEx Supply Chain for $1.4 billion in enterprise value, the companies announced Wednesday. The transaction, anticipated to close later this year, will nearly triple the size of CMA CGM's CEVA Logistics operations in North America. The combined entity will operate approximately 150 warehouses across more than 240 North American locations with a combined workforce of 20,000 employees. Following the deal's completion, CMA CGM and FedEx will establish multi-year commercial agreements for air and ocean freight services. CMA CGM will become a preferred ocean carrier for FedEx under a non-exclusive arrangement, with air cargo and ocean freight agreements expected to commence in phases through 2028. The divestment follows FedEx's spin-off of FedEx Freight on June 1 and reflects the company's strategic focus on healthcare, automotive, aerospace, and data centers.
