CMA CGM Group has completed its $1.4 billion acquisition of FedEx Supply Chain, significantly bolstering the French shipping conglomerate's contract logistics footprint in North America through its Ceva Logistics division.

The deal nearly triples Ceva's warehouse capacity, adding approximately 34 million square feet. The combined business operates about 150 warehouses, bringing total North American locations to more than 240. The acquisition also doubles Ceva's workforce to 20,000 employees and brings 130 new customers to the operation.

CMA CGM and FedEx will collaborate on ocean and air cargo services, with CMA CGM becoming a preferred ocean carrier for FedEx while the companies optimize aircraft utilization on Asia-Europe routes. The combined entity gains sector expertise in healthcare, technology, consumer and retail sectors. FedEx Supply Chain represented less than 2% of FedEx's annual revenue.
