CMA CGM named Patrick Moebel, the former president of FedEx Logistics, as chief executive of Ceva Logistics, the world's fifth-largest third-party logistics provider by revenue. Moebel replaces Matthieu Friedberg, who moves to an executive vice president role focused on transformation at the parent company. Ceva, with $18.3 billion in annual revenue and 110,000 employees across 170 countries, specializes in contract logistics, freight management, and value-added services, with significant automotive logistics operations. Moebel spent nearly six years leading FedEx's international freight forwarding unit and previously headed Americas operations at Geodis for roughly a dozen years. The appointment follows CMA CGM's announced acquisition of FedEx Supply Chain, expected to close later this year. The move supports CMA CGM's strategy to expand North American capabilities and strengthen product offerings as the Marseille-based conglomerate transforms from ocean carrier to integrated logistics provider.
