CME Group launched cash-settled single-stock futures contracts on 55 U.S. equities Monday, including micro-sized contracts on 22 names. The contracts trade on the Globex platform Sunday evening through Friday afternoon with a one-hour daily maintenance window, enabling positions on companies including SpaceX, Micron Technology, Nvidia, Tesla and Apple. Standard contracts represent 100 shares while micro contracts represent 10 shares. The exchange positioned the products as a simpler alternative to options, eliminating time decay and implied volatility concerns while requiring only fractional capital through margin trading. Cash settlement occurs based on official closing prices. CME said it may expand the initial lineup beyond 55 stocks pending customer demand and compliance with listing standards. Morgan Stanley analysts noted more than 35 retail brokers committed to day-one readiness.
