A new cross-border rail corridor for agricultural shipments launched this month, connecting Michigan producers to Central and Southern Mexico. The service, branded 'America's Harvest,' operates through a coordinated network of four carriers: CN, Grupo Mexico Transportes (GMXT), Genesee & Wyoming (G&W), and CG Railway—a U.S.-Mexico rail-ferry joint venture. The route originates from Huron & Eastern Railway's Michigan location and reaches multiple Mexican destinations. Transit times range from 15 days to Coatzacoalcos to 27 days to Guadalajara. CG Railway operates two double-deck 590-foot ferries, each with a capacity of 135 railcars. The integrated offering streamlines documentation, customs compliance, and final delivery while providing competitive pricing. Partners emphasize coordinated scheduling, reliable transit times, and unified customer support across the network, positioning the corridor as a competitive option for pulse crop exporters.
