Canadian National Railway set a new monthly propane shipment record on its South Beamer, Alberta to Watson Island, British Columbia route in May, the Class I carrier announced June 4. Volumes jumped 40% compared to May 2025 and surpassed the previous monthly high from August 2024, while maintaining existing commercial agreements. CN attributed the achievement to train length optimization, network efficiency improvements, and operational execution along the corridor. The carrier said the performance reflects its focus on service consistency and asset utilization, creating additional capacity to support customer expansion. With strong Canadian propane export demand continuing, CN remains committed to working closely with Pembina and supply chain partners to provide safe, efficient, and reliable transportation solutions. Separately, CN's Iowa Signals & Communications team reached a 24-year injury-free milestone. The team credits a speak-up safety culture and team cohesion for the achievement.
