A 25-year-old Connecticut resident will serve 24 months in federal prison for orchestrating a fraud scheme that cost Amazon more than $3.5 million. Ameer Nasir registered 23 trucking businesses with Amazon Logistics between December 2019 and February 2021. He used both his own company, Pak Express Transport LLC, and identifying information belonging to unrelated carriers. Through Amazon Relay, the platform connecting motor carriers with transportation assignments, Nasir submitted over 1,000 fraudulent trailer movements that never occurred. He circumvented GPS geofencing safeguards by exploiting the system's manual override feature. Federal prosecutors documented one May 2020 assignment claiming a trailer movement from Kent, Washington, to Lakeland, Florida that did not happen. Following an FBI investigation, Nasir was arrested in May 2025 and pleaded guilty to wire fraud. U.S. District Judge Dooley sentenced him Wednesday in Bridgeport, with three years of supervised release to follow.
