Developer Hillwood has broken ground on a major logistics facility one mile from Chicago Rockford International Airport, marking continued expansion at the cargo hub. The 334,800 square foot structure will serve as the first phase of Rockford Logistics Park 20. The facility will accommodate air cargo operations, logistics, distribution, light manufacturing and assembly work, with capacity for single or multiple tenants. Chicago Rockford International Airport executive director Zack Oakley cited the project as evidence of sustained investment and rising demand for logistics space in the region. The airport has experienced rapid cargo growth, with 2025 marking its second-busiest year on record behind 2022. Recent activity includes freight forwarder DSV launching a Luxembourg freighter service at the facility.
