Singapore-based Synergy Marine rejected federal negligence allegations stemming from the 2024 Baltimore bridge collapse. The company said it will defend itself "strenuously" against the charges. The U.S. Justice Department indicted Synergy Marine and technical superintendent Radhakrishnan Karthik Nair following the Dali's collision with the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which killed six construction workers. The company maintains that the National Transportation Safety Board determined loose wiring caused by a misapplied label triggered electrical blackouts aboard the 10,000-teu container ship, resulting in lost steering and propulsion. Synergy Marine contends the accident was unavoidable given the equipment failure and bears no responsibility for the operational conditions. The Maersk-chartered vessel was departing Baltimore for Sri Lanka when the incident occurred.
