Charlie Javice, the fintech entrepreneur convicted of defrauding JPMorgan Chase, is petitioning the Trump administration for a presidential pardon, according to reporting Sunday.
Javice founded Frank, a student financial aid platform that JPMorgan acquired in 2021 for $175 million. She was sentenced last year to more than seven years in prison for misrepresenting the company's customer base to the bank.
Frank claimed 4 million users, but JPMorgan determined the actual customer count was fewer than 300,000. The discrepancy formed the basis of the fraud conviction.
The Trump administration is reportedly considering approximately 250 pardons as part of commemorations marking the nation's 250th birthday. A spokesperson for Javice declined further comment. JPMorgan did not respond to requests for statement on the pardon petition.
