Dolly Parton, the legendary country music performer, died Tuesday at age 80 in Nashville. She had recently expanded into the trucking industry. Her death came nearly two months after she made a surprise appearance at the June 24 grand opening of Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop in Cornersville, Tennessee, off Interstate 65 near Exit 22. Parton cut the ribbon with rhinestone-covered scissors and greeted hundreds of attendees at the facility. The travel center represents Parton's entry into highway commerce, combining truck amenities including parking, fuel, showers and laundry with restaurants, retail, a coffee shop, dog park and EV charging stations. Parton developed the venture through a partnership with Sachs Capital Group and CTK Enterprises. The Cornersville location was designed as a flagship facility for potential future expansion.
