CPKC Steam Tour Honored for Historic Preservation Achievement

Canadian Pacific Kansas City's Final Spike Anniversary Steam Tour has earned the 2026 Outstanding Railroad Historic Preservation Award from the National Railway Historical Society and Railway Age. The accolade recognizes the railroad's operation of Canadian Pacific Empress 2816 on a 9,000-mile journey spanning Canada, the United States and Mexico. CPKC President and CEO Keith Creel praised the company's workforce for executing the unprecedented tour. The award was presented June 2 at Railway Interchange in Omaha, Nebraska. The steam tour demonstrated the railroad's commitment to preserving its heritage.
