The 9th Annual Modernization of Cross-Border Trade gathered more than 500 logistics professionals at the Laredo Country Club on June 9. The event brought together shippers, brokers, carriers, customs officials, and technology providers focused on U.S.-Mexico supply chain challenges. The conference has expanded dramatically since its launch nine years ago as an intimate 20-person dinner in Laredo. Mark Vickers, founder of Borderless Coverage and head of international logistics at Reliance Partners, hosts the conference. He attributed growth to evolving market demands. This year's programming highlighted tequila logistics, the largest Mexican import into the United States. Top tequila brands sponsored a guided tasting, addressing supply chain risks including cargo theft, inadequate insurance coverage, and carrier vetting. The 2026 sponsor roster included Descartes Systems Group, Evans Transportation, Green Corridors, Kuehne+Nagel, Averitt, and Cargado.
