Daimler Truck's senior executives outlined the company's commitment to full EPA 2027 compliance during a panel discussion at the company's North American headquarters. CFO Eva Scherer confirmed Daimler will launch a fully compliant Detroit engine without relying on emissions credits or penalty strategies. The new powerplant shares approximately two-thirds of its components with current generation engines, positioning the transition as a reliability story rather than a technological overhaul. Scherer highlighted a three percent fuel economy improvement in the new engine, a meaningful gain for carriers operating over annual mileage. Stephan Unger, chairman of Daimler Truck Financial Services, and Kevin Bangston, president and CEO of Daimler Truck Financial Services USA LLC, joined the discussion. The panel covered global and regional market perspectives. Daimler released 2027 pricing in September without triggering an anticipated pre-buy surge.
