Descartes Systems Group has integrated a new search capability into its Datamyne global trade intelligence platform, enabling users to pose natural-language questions about international commerce data. The tool can reduce research time by up to 90 percent, the company said. Users can query information on suppliers, buyers, commodities, shipment activity and trade relationships. The system returns answers alongside supporting visualizations and underlying shipment records. Datamyne covers 230 markets and processes more than 500 million shipment records annually. The platform helps logistics professionals identify suppliers, monitor competitors, evaluate trade risks and track shifts in product flows and market demand. Users can refine queries and investigate related companies, commodities, shipments and trade relationships without leaving the platform. Descartes said the capability combines analytical power with domain-specific data while allowing users to verify results against actual transaction records.
