Descartes Systems Group announced Monday that it has acquired Tai, a transportation management platform serving freight brokers, for $100 million. The Canadian logistics software company's move brings Tai's California-based platform into its portfolio. Tai's platform handles the complete shipment workflow from quoting through invoicing across truckload, less-than-truckload, drayage and cross-border operations. The acquisition adds transaction data, carrier relationships and shipment execution capabilities to Descartes' Global Logistics Network. Ed Ryan, Descartes CEO, said the combination strengthens carrier onboarding, compliance tools and real-time visibility while helping brokers improve margins and streamline operations. The deal marks Descartes' third major acquisition this year, following the $30 million purchase of Latin American last-mile provider Drivin last month and the $28 million acquisition of Pittsburgh-based fleet safety company Idelic in April.
