DHL has moved autonomous vehicles into full commercial service at its Advanced Regional Center in Singapore, marking a significant expansion of driverless logistics operations in the region. Working with Zelostech, the carrier now operates fully electric, driverless shuttles that handle repetitive transfers between on-campus facilities.
Each vehicle carries up to 5 tons per shipment and completes an average of 40 trips daily, covering roughly 28 kilometers. The fleet moves dozens of pallets each day, with staff managing unloading at destination points. The autonomous vehicles operate at approximately half the cost of diesel trucks while reducing emissions.
The deployment reduces operational bottlenecks caused by congestion and staffing constraints. DHL's logistics teams have shifted focus from driver supervision to system and data management, enabling the carrier to strengthen its logistics capabilities and meet customer sustainability requirements.
