DHL has received its first Boeing 777-200 Long Range Mammoth Freighter conversion, marking a significant expansion of the carrier's cargo fleet. The aircraft was displayed at the Farnborough International Airshow this week after undergoing modification work in Manchester. The modifications included installation of a main-deck cargo door and advanced cargo handling systems. DHL has ordered 13 of the converted freighters in total, with four expected to enter service this year. The aircraft will operate within DHL Express' global network as part of broader fleet modernization efforts. The 777-200LRMF retains original airframes and engines while gaining enhanced cargo capabilities. Mammoth Freighters obtained FAA Supplemental Type Certification for the conversion in April. The aircraft joins DHL Air UK's operations, supporting long-haul network capacity and sustainability objectives.
