Ransomware group Direwolf claimed attacks against two logistics entities in September, raising concerns across the sector. On September 7, the group listed Precision Vehicle Logistics, a Michigan-based finished-vehicle operator, among its victims. Four days later, on September 11, Direwolf added Malaysia's Port of Tanjung Pelepas to its claimed breach list. Claimed breaches do not necessarily confirm successful network penetration, yet such assertions can signal threats to shippers reliant on affected facilities. The incidents reflect an ongoing pattern of cyber targeting within freight and port operations. Industry observers note that stakeholders should reassess security protocols and incident response capabilities across their networks.
