DP World has named Morten Johansen as chief executive officer for its Americas region, overseeing port and logistics operations across North America, South America, and the Caribbean. Johansen replaces Brian Enright in the role. The executive brings more than 25 years of experience in integrated port and logistics operations, having joined DP World in 2011 and previously serving as CEO of DP World Dominicana. Most recently, he held the position of chief operating officer for DP World Americas, managing ports, terminals, logistics services, economic zones, and maritime operations throughout the hemisphere. The appointment follows DP World's expansion push in the region, including exclusive negotiations with the Port of Corpus Christi. Under these negotiations, DP World would design, build, and operate a container terminal handling approximately 1 million TEUs annually. The company is also developing a $760 million port and free-trade-zone project in the Dominican Republic aimed at bolstering cargo capacity and nearshoring investment.
