DP World is discontinuing SeaRates, the digital logistics marketplace it acquired in 2020. Founder Sergey Dzhashytov announced the shutdown via LinkedIn, noting that companies using the service have begun seeking alternatives. SeaRates offered freight booking, rate quotes, tracking, ERP integration and white-label solutions across its marketplace. The terminal operator acquired the platform to expand beyond ports into digitally enabled logistics services. The move may signal DP World is refocusing its technology investments toward platforms more tightly integrated with its core terminal and cargo operations. The impact on the Digital Freight Alliance, a global forwarder network established by DP World, remains unclear. Neither DP World nor SeaRates has issued a public announcement regarding the discontinuation.
