DP World has appointed Morten Johansen as chief executive officer of its Americas region, overseeing operations across North America, South America, and the Caribbean. Johansen replaces Brian Enright in the role. The executive brings more than 25 years of experience in integrated port and logistics operations, having joined DP World in 2011 and previously leading DP World Dominicana as CEO. Most recently, he served as chief operating officer of DP World Americas, managing ports, terminals, logistics services, economic zones, and maritime operations throughout the Western Hemisphere. The appointment reflects DP World's expansion strategy in the region. The company entered exclusive negotiations with the Port of Corpus Christi to develop a container terminal capable of handling approximately 1 million TEUs annually. This would represent its first major U.S. container-terminal project in roughly two decades. Additionally, DP World is investing $760 million in a Dominican Republic port and free-trade-zone development aimed at boosting cargo capacity and nearshoring opportunities.
