Dry van spot linehaul rates climbed to $2.40 per mile this week, significantly outpacing the nine-year seasonal average of $1.85 per mile, according to market data. The surge reflects a classic quarter-end dynamic, with shippers accelerating freight movement ahead of the calendar transition while available truck supply contracted. Load posts grew 17.5% week-over-week while posted trucks declined 2%. The Great Lakes region led regional gains, adding 10 cents per mile to $2.59 for the week. The top 10 origin regions accounted for 87% of outbound loads in the market. A 35-day rate forecast projects dry van linehaul stabilizing near $2.25, maintaining its position well above year-ago levels and within the middle band of equipment classes.
