Einride and EASE Logistics have launched a proof-of-concept deployment of SAE Level 4 autonomous electric trucks in Ohio, marking an expansion of driverless freight operations beyond the Sun Belt. Two cabless trucks will operate between EASE warehouses in Marysville under the Truck Automation Corridor Project, a joint initiative between the Ohio and Indiana departments of transportation. The deployment begins this summer and will utilize both private property and public roads. Remote operators will monitor vehicles off-site and can intervene when necessary. EASE Logistics, based in Columbus, is running its third autonomous trucking project through this partnership. This positions the company among a select group of logistics providers actively testing multiple autonomous platforms in live operations. The initiative evaluates impacts on safety, efficiency, and warehouse operations at scale.
