The pharmaceutical manufacturer agreed to purchase Curevo, LimmaTech Biologics and Vaccine Company. The move represents a strategic pivot toward prevention-focused therapeutics rather than post-infection treatments. Daniel M. Skovronsky, chief scientific and product officer and president, said the acquisitions reflect the company's commitment to "prevent disease at its source rather than treat its consequences." The announcement lifted shares in premarket trading.
