Emirates SkyCargo has taken delivery of its first converted Boeing 777-300ERSF freighter, becoming the first combination carrier to deploy a converted 777 freighter. The aircraft completed its maiden commercial flight on June 30 from Dubai to Hong Kong with 100 tonnes of cargo. Israel Aerospace Industries converted the jet, which features 100-tonne payload capacity and 811 cubic meters of cargo volume—25% more than production models. The freighter accommodates 47 pallet positions, 10 more than standard variants, making it ideal for e-commerce shipments. Emirates has ordered 10 converted 777s from IAI, with another delivery expected this year and three more in 2027. The carrier's all-cargo fleet currently includes 18 production 777Fs and four wet-leased 747Fs. The airline has expanded freighter destinations from 40 in February to 62, with plans for a round-the-world service including transpacific routes.
