Emirates SkyCargo will operate dedicated weekly Boeing 777 freighter flights to Almaty International Airport in Kazakhstan beginning June 16, marking the carrier's first Central Asia destination. The Tuesday service delivers over 100 tonnes of weekly capacity for electronics, perishables, machinery and consumer goods to the regional trade hub. Badr Abbas, divisional senior vice president, said the expansion supports the airline's growth strategy. The move also aligns with Dubai's D33 Economic Agenda objectives by accelerating foreign trade and strengthening Dubai's standing as a global logistics hub. Emirates has capitalized on Central Asia's dynamic economic expansion while providing shippers direct wide-body connectivity to a strategic marketplace. The airline has received four new Boeing 777 freighters since March, with six additional aircraft expected by year-end, bringing the dedicated freighter fleet to 21 aircraft by December. Emirates supplements freighter operations with bellyhold capacity on passenger aircraft serving six continents.
