Emirates SkyCargo is entering the transpacific trade lane this month with a round-the-world service. The route will connect Dubai, Hanoi, Anchorage, Chicago and European gateways, serving either Amsterdam's Schiphol or Frankfurt. Strong demand from Vietnamese tech and electronics production is driving the expansion, with cargo including phones, laptops and hardware destined for global markets. The airline took delivery of its first converted 777 freighter in June and expects five additional 777Fs before year-end, bringing its dedicated freighter fleet to 23 777Fs plus four wet-leased 747Fs. Longer flight segments are absorbing more capacity per rotation, with two weekly flights requiring dedicated aircraft. The carrier simultaneously winds down passenger-freighter operations in July. Management identified North America and South America as key growth markets ahead.
